I wasn't drawing an org chart. I was writing how design should work: one integrated team, away from pods. UI, IA, research, copy, systems, and brand connected, so the product was too.
Good designwhere it's needed most.
I'm currently the design lead for the Specialty Contractor experience and the Resource Management suite at Procore. Before that, I was Head of Design at RudderStack, where I led the products and teams around customer data.
I'm a generalist. I'm good at imagining ambitious products, and helping teams actually ship them.
Outside of work, I'm just Steve, a dad raising twins, and three dogs, and spending my Saturday mornings playing basketball at the park.

June 2023
Destinations already existed. I redesigned how you connect them: a 27-field form that assumed you already knew the product, cut down to two steps. Destination creation went up 220%.
July 2019
Appeals already existed. The pain was getting paid for the work. I designed Appealio for hospitals and small offices so AI could draft the first pass of the letter. Appeal time dropped 75%, and revenue went up 26%.
May 2015
Running a shop while doing the books yourself makes it hard to succeed. At Intuit Labs I designed a QuickBooks path that gave local businesses an ongoing relationship with a CPA. It later became the My Accountant tab.
